Abstract
Studies have shown that gut commensals facilitate the differentiation of peripheral regulatory T cells (pTregs) via their metabolic products. In this issue of Immunity, Campbell et al. (2018) demonstrate a reciprocal effect of pTregs on the metabolic functions of specific gut commensals that affects their overall energy harvest capacity.Mesh:
