Economic activity has been reduced to three categories based upon the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey data-set: employed (economically active people), unemployed (those out of work but are available to start work) and economically inactive (including students, those looking after the home, long-term sick, disabled or retired).
Ethnicity was collapsed into two ethnic groups (White versus Black and minority ethnic).
Accommodation has been reduced to three categories: owns own home, rent (private rental and social housing) and other (lives with parents/relatives, other).
