Abstract
The case of a 16-month-old boy with infectious mononucleosis who developed bilateral parotitis and unilateral Bell's palsy is presented. The diagnosis was confirmed by the development of specific antibodies for various Epstein-Barr virus antigens typical of primary Epstein-Barr virus infection. Serological tests for other viruses were negative. The Bell's palsy subsided within three months, while the clinical signs of infectious mononucleosis and parotitis persisted for three weeks.Entities:
