Abstract
Background: To date, little is known about treatment preferences for depression concerning new media. This study aims to (1) investigate treatment preferences for depression including internet-based interventions and (2) examine subgroup differences concerning age, gender and severity of depression as well as patient-related factors associated with treatment preferences.Entities:

Combined treatment refers to medication and psychotherapy.
Alternative treatment (e.g., alternative practitioners); SD, standard deviation; treatment preferences had a possible range from 1 to 5, with higher scores indicating stronger preference; gender- and depression-related differences were analyzed with Wilcoxon two-sample tests; age-related differences were calculated using Cuzicks Trend test; the level of significance was p < 0.01.
