Abstract
Diagnostic imaging is sometimes necessary to supplement the clinical findings in patients with suspected temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). However, the interpretation of pathology in the imaging findings is often complicated by the presence of similar findings in asymptomatic volunteers, as well as by the use of inadequate imaging techniques and poor image quality. This article focuses on these issues and gives guidance on the appropriate use of diagnostic imaging in patients with suspected TMD.Entities:
