Abstract

Meningococcal pericarditis is classically divided into three separate entities: isolated meningococcal pericarditis, disseminated meningococcal disease with pericarditis, and reactive (immunopathic) meningococcal pericarditis. We present the case of a 74-year-old woman with meningococcal septicaemia with meningococcal myopericarditis, which demonstrates crossover features. © Royal College of Physicians 2018.
