Abstract
We studied 41 patients with chronic interstitial cystitis. Histological examination of bladder lesions revealed mucosal ulceration, pancystitis and perineural inflammatory infiltrates. Perineural cell infiltration is related probably to the characteristic symptoms of the disease. A search for a viral etiology, particularly herpes simplex virus, rendered negative results.Entities:
