Abstract
The clinical teaching of undergraduate dentistry is based on a curriculum of desired learning outcomes and competencies in all domains such that graduates can practice autonomously. This report will consider how self-assessment (SA) fits into the continuum of assessment and its use by students and teachers in undergraduate dental education. The purpose of the report is to identify the process of SA. The literature is explored and uses, pitfalls and perceived benefits considered.Entities:
