Abstract
Chlorogenic acid (CGA; (IS,3R,4R.5R)-3-{[(2Z)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-1,4,5-trihydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic acid) is a naturally occurring polyphenol mostly present in vegetables and fruits. CGA is a prominent component of Traditional Chinese Medicines and is known for various pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective etc. This mini-review is an attempt to summarize the available literature in the last decade and to point out future perspectives in this area of research.Entities:
