Abstract
Several proteins are ubiquitylated in response to genotoxic stress; however, the roles of deubiquitinases (DUBs) in reversing these modifications are less well characterized. Two independent studies by Kwasna et al. (2018) and Haahr et al. (2018) identify a new type of cysteine protease DUB called ZUFSP, which cleaves K63-linked polyubiquitin chains at DNA damage sites to promote genome stability.Entities:
