Abstract
Although several studies have evaluated the local control and survival outcomes in patients undergoing stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for pulmonary oligometastases, little data are available on the management of local relapse. Here, we present 3 patients who underwent lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection as salvage pulmonary metastasectomy for local relapse after SBRT. The postoperative course has been uneventful for all 3 patients, with no evidence of disease at 40, 51, and 6 months from the salvage metastasectomy. Our experience suggests that salvage pulmonary metastasectomy may be associated with local control and long-term survival in carefully selected patients.Entities:
