Retropharyngeal abscess after chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy increases susceptibility to infection due to the effect on cell-mediated and humoral immunity. Retropharyngeal abscess is a serious head and neck infection that rapidly progresses from toxicity, whether the patient is neutropenic or not.
