Abstract
BACKGROUND: Since there is no effective treatment or vaccine against the congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection, knowledge and awareness of medical doctor's (MDs) especially family doctors are essential for preventive strategies and it also seems to be usually ignored by healthcare providers.
