Case of venom ophthalmia following contact with Naja pallida: the red spitting cobra.

Venom ophthalmia is a condition that can be eyesight threatening. This article describes a case of venom ophthalmia due to the Naja pallida (red spitting cobra) and is aimed to educate readers regarding the management of an uncommon, yet important, pathology that deployed military personnel may encounter. Simple first steps can reduce the impact of the injury with copious irrigation of the eye being the key management step.
