Abstract
The case of a 67-year-old man with acute anterior ischemic optic neuropathy occurring in conjunction with the ocular ischemic syndrome (anterior segment and fundus manifestations secondary to severe ipsilateral carotid artery obstruction) is presented. Although the association appears to be quite uncommon, occasionally a carotid artery obstructive lesion may predispose a patient to the development of acute ischemic changes in the anterior optic nerve.Entities:
