B O Abiose.

A retrospective analysis of 104 patients with maxillofacial skeleton injuries, treated at the University College Hospital, Ibadan was undertaken. 84.62% of the patients were male, 75.0% of the fractures were mandibular. 80.77% were due to road traffic accidents and 4.81% to armed robbery attacks. The aetiology, pattern and incidence of fractures, age, sex, presence of infection, time lag between injury and treatment and the results are discussed.
