Abstract
OBJECTIVES: Intraarticular injection is used for pain relief in knee osteoarthritis (OA), but there is not a well defined profile of patient who could get more benefit from it. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the frequency of pain relief at one year after corticosteroids intraarticular injection and to identify clinical factors associated to response in patients with knee osteoarthritis with joint effusion.Entities:

BMI: Body Mass Index, CI: Confidence Interval, CRP: C-reactive protein, SD: standard deviation, US: Ultrasound, WC: Waist Circumference.
Continuous variables were expressed using means and standard deviation. Comparisons were performed by T-student test (p value reported in the lower line). Categorical variables were expressed by absolute frequencies, percentages and CI of 95%; comparisons were performed using a Fisher’s test (binary variables) or a Chi-square test (for more than two categories).
All variables included in the Table 1 were evaluated in the analyses. In this table, only statistical significant results are shown.
