Abstract
A case of Paneth cell adenoma of the stomach in a 75-year-old woman is reported. At histological examination, a tubular adenoma with low-grade (moderate) dysplasia was found. The dysplastic cells had distinct coarse cytoplasmic granules that stained red with eosin and PAS but were negative with alcian blue pH 2.5. The adenoma may have developed from paneth cells present in areas of preexisting intestinal metaplasia.Entities:
