Role modeling versus mentoring in nursing education.

Abstract

Role modeling, an accepted strategy for transmitting professional attitudes and behaviors from nursing instructor to students, and mentoring, a newer strategy in nursing education, are compared and contrasted. Possibilities for research and implications are discussed.
