The somatotrope hormone is responsible for growth. With this hormone we can stimulate the growing process in hypophyseal ateleiosis and in constitutional retarded development. Human growth hormone accelerate growth and bone maturation in the same way, also anabolics stimulate growth, especially bone maturation. They also accelerate the development of the dentition, as shown by the example quoted. The best time for orthodontic treatment is during intensive growth periods the specific skeletal age taking into account.
