Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study relationship between androgen receptor (AR) CAG repeat polymorphism, insulin resistance (IR), β-cell function and other clinical/biochemical parameters in ethnic South Asian adults. A case (males with diabetes), control (males without diabetes) study, was conducted and 110 males were invited. Anthropometry, blood pressure and biochemical parameters (fasting Insulin, blood sugar, HbA1c and lipid profile) were measured. IR and β-cell function was calculated. A multiple-linear-regression analysis was performed, using number of AR CAG repeats as the continuous dependent variable.Entities:
