Abstract
The study was intended to investigate the protective effects of emodin against cell injury and inflammation in AR42J cells. We determined trypsin and lipase activity, intracellular ROS and MMP using specific assay kits. The related protein expression and TNF-α and IL-6 in the medium were assayed by Western blot and ELISA kits. Results showed that emodin could protect AR42J cells against cell injury caused by cerulein and lipopolysaccharide which were possibly associated with inhibition of mitochondrial damage, ROS production, and then significantly inhibited ROS-mediated pathway, and ameliorated pancreatic cells injury by depleting the levels of inflammatory cytokines.Entities:
