Abstract
BACKGROUND: The "Physical Activity Reference for Health Promotion 2013" provides "fit" reference values for cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) for good health. The importance of achieving a fit CRF level for several years on the subsequent prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains to be clarified.Entities:

Figure 1. Scheme for calculating the area under the curve for cardiorespiratory fitness. The area under the curve (AUC) for cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) was calculated based on a formula to calculate the trapezoid area. After calculating the area between measured values, the sum was calculated. Furthermore, based on the guideline for fit reference value,[13] the reference area (AUCref) for each individual during the same period was calculated. Next, we calculated the ratio of AUC to AUCref (AUCratio) and the result was multiplied by 100 for intuitive interpretation. This figure shows the case of males aged 40 years old at 1979. The AUC and AUCref were divided by the measurement period (final year of measurement − first year of measurement), and standardized as the area per year.
