Abstract
Severe acute respiratory distress syndrome after laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis in a young adult is an uncommon complication. We describe the case of a 25-year-old male who developed severe acute respiratory distress syndrome after an uneventful laparoscopic appendectomy for a perforated appendix, requiring mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit.Entities:
