Abstract
Chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) is the most common complication following surgery, with increasing evidence of both its prevalence and severity. While awareness of the various risk factors for this long-term condition is also increasing, effective prevention remains elusive. In this review, we describe the increasing evidence for preventive or 'protective' strategies. Controversies and conflicting human data are presented along with suggestions for improved future study.Entities:
