Abstract
PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) is a common post-disaster psychological condition which research has shown to have comorbidity with depression. To explore the relationship between PTSD and depression further, a cross-sectional study design was adopted. Three years after the Ya'an earthquake, 4137 adolescents (mean age 15.12) who had personally experienced the earthquake were assessed. The study results showed that PTSD significantly predicted future depression, with the effect being partially mediated by the negative life events after the earthquake. Gender was not found to be a significant moderator between PTSD and depression.Entities:
