Abstract
BACKGROUND: Laboratory test in transport is a critical component of patient care, and capillary blood is a preferred sample type particularly in children. This study evaluated the performance of capillary blood testing on the epoc Point of Care Blood Analysis System (Alere Inc).Entities:

Correlation of epoc capillary tests with GEM 4000 or Vitros 5600 tests (n = 10). Reference method is venous whole blood testing on GEM 4000 except for creatinine which is venous plasma tested on Vitros 5600. Comparison method is venous whole blood tested on capillary mode of epoc. AMR: Analytical Measurement Range. SD: Standard Deviation. R: Correlation coefficient of Deming regression.
