Abstract
Knowing the type and subtype of viruses has often been an essential preliminary to good infection control. A wide variety of methods have been and are used to differentiate virus variants. Examples are given of how some of these biological, immunological and molecular techniques have been used to investigate the epidemiology of some common virus infections.Entities:
