Abstract
Human testicular transplantation using microsurgical technique is gaining popularity. Since 10 years autotransplantation of the testis proved to be a surgical technique with a definitive place in the therapy of high abdominal cryptorchidism. It is a procedure to be employed in situations where appropriate mobilisation yields an ineffective orchidopexy. In a review of 130 cases in the literature a success rate of 87% is reported. The problems of diagnostic procedures, of the indication and the possibilities of ischemia protection are described. Iso- and allotransplantation of the human testis are reported from few centers, but the results are excellent. Therefore, the operative technique and the long-term results are described in detail.Entities:
