Abstract
The most commonly ordered radiologic examination is the chest radiograph, and it is considered the gold standard for diagnosing pneumonia. For this reason, it is essential that radiologic technologists understand the disease and how it affects patients. This article discusses the anatomy of the lungs, along with the epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and complications of community-acquired pneumonia. ©2017 American Society of Radiologic Technologists.Entities:
