Abstract
Very few cases of villous adenomas of the bladder or urinary tract have been described. To our knowledge this is the first account of resection of an urachal villous adenoma via robotic laparoscopy, which is a safe and efficacious surgical approach. At this time, there is not enough evidence to suggest that progression of disease to carcinoma is the typical course. Nonetheless, follow-up cystoscopy is recommended after complete removal of the adenoma to monitor for recurrence. This case report reviews the current literature and describes a novel approach to treatment of this exceedingly rare entity.Entities:
