Tachycardia-Mediated Cardiomyopathy.

Mark E Josephson1.

Abstract

Tachycardia-mediated cardiomyopathy is a little appreciated but highly relevant disorder that is curable, unlike most other cardiomyopathies. This article describes the symptoms, testing, and treatment used in the case of a 35-year-old woman who presented with progressive congestive heart failure. An electrophysiologist determined that this was most likely a non-reentrant 1:2 tachycardia. Success was achieved without transplant.
