Fig. 1Cumulative incidence of recurrent advanced neoplasia according to risk group at the index colonoscopy. The 3-year cumulative incidence of advanced neoplasia in each risk group was 10.2% in the high-risk group (advanced neoplasia or ≥3 adenomas; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.86–0.94), 3.1% in the low-risk group (1–2 adenomas <1 cm in size; 95% CI, 0.96–0.98), and 0.8% in the normal group (95% CI, 0.98–1.00) (p<0.0001). The 5-year cumulative incidence of advanced neoplasia in each risk group was 20.2% in the high-risk group (95% CI, 0.74–0.87), 8.6% in the low-risk group (95% CI, 0.89–0.94), and 2.2% in the normal group (95% CI, 0.96–0.99) (p<0.0001).
