Abstract
Clinical studies show that prescription of benzodiazepines increases with age, and well outside of recognized indications. It often is inappropriate and abusive. Its consequences can be very serious and considerably increase patients' morbidity and mortality. Strategies exist to stop these medications through a multidisciplinary approach. Widespread campaigns are necessary to correct what has become a significant public health problem.Entities:
