Abstract
Neurocysticercosis is a parasitic infection of the central nervous system with the cysts of Taenia solium, the pig tapeworm. Infection presents with a pleomorphic picture depending on the stage and location of the infection and the immune response of the infected host. Historically confined to the developing world, neurocysticercosis is no longer limited to endemic regions, as globalization, travel, and immigration permit the spread of the infection. We report a young Hispanic patient who was diagnosed with neurocysticercosis of the fourth ventricle and subsequent hydrocephalus.Entities:
