Abstract
Pneumococcal peritonitis was diagnosed in a woman with an intrauterine device (IUD), admitted to the hospital with presenting symptoms of septic shock. The surgical, bacteriological and histological findings are described, and the preferred mode of treatment is discussed.Entities:
