Abstract
20 young adults with cystic fibrosis (CF), including 2 with cancer, were found to have low serum selenium concentrations. Serum vitamin E concentrations were also low. It is suggested that low levels of circulating selenium are associated with increased risk of carcinoma, particularly in the presence of reduced vitamin E levels. Older patients with CF may be at increased risk for the development of carcinoma.Entities:
