Abstract
Plant ARGONAUTE (AGO) proteins regulate a wide range of cellular and developmental functions. Recent findings highlight their role during homologous recombination, a basic mechanism to repair double-strand DNA lesions (in somatic cells) and programmed DNA breaks (in meiocytes). This chapter contains an exhaustive description of procedures applied to analyze meiotic chromosome behavior (cytogenetic techniques) and DNA repair capacity (genotoxicity assays) in AGO-deficient Arabidopsis thaliana mutants.Entities:
