Estimates of effect were calculated using proportional odds logistic-regression models. All variables are dichotomous except for age and length of intubation. Intubation period is defined as the time of endotracheal intubation to the time of extubation. Values are expressed as median (IQR).
CI, confidence interval; OPCAB, off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting; On-CABG, on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting; OR, odds ratio; VR, valve replacement; BCA, brachiocephalic artery; VAD, ventricular assist device surgery; ITA, internal thoracic artery.
aThis group served as the reference group and included ascending arch procedures without brachiocephalic artery reconstruction and other uncategorised cardiovascular procedures.
