Abstract
Klebsiella aerogenes possesses a PQQ-linked glucose dehydrogenase. Other members of the Enterobacteriaceae, such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium or Serratia marcescens are seemingly unable to synthesize PQQ, but are able to synthesize the glucose dehydrogenase apoenzyme. The physiological significance of this enzyme is discussed.Entities:
