Abstract
The clinical picture of multiple circumpapillary cotton-wool spots and mild ischaemic swelling of the inner retina is attributed to partial occlusion of the central retinal artery. The pathophysiological basis of the fundus signs is discussed and the role of interrupted axoplasmic transport in the development of the cotton-wool spots is emphasized.Entities:
