Abstract
Following ingestion of marine fish in Thailand this patient complained of gastrointestinal and neurological disturbances, marked by severe, mainly motor, demyelinating polyneuropathy, which worsened on her return to Italy a few days later. The clinical pattern, electromyography, cerebrospinal fluid test and sural nerve biopsy by electronmicroscopy permitted the diagnosis of polyneuropathy secondary to ciguatoxin poisoning.Entities:
