Abstract
BACKGROUND: Hospitalized patients in the United States experience falls at a rate of 2.6 to 17.1 per 1000 patient-days, with the majority occurring when a patient is moving to, from, and around the bed. Each fall with injury costs an average of US $14,000.Entities:

Figure 2Recruitment methodology.
Figure 3Intranet of things architecture of the SensableCare System. The sensor pad sends data through a cable to the control box located at the patient’s bedside. The control box wirelessly transmits this data to the Bluetooth routers located throughout the ward. This information then travels through the hospital network to the dashboard and docking server where the data is analyzed. When an alert is sent to the nurse via an app on their mobile phone, it is wirelessly transmitted through the hospital’s Wi-Fi network.
