Abstract
Nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) enzymes are large modular proteins involved in the biosynthesis of many important pharmaceuticals such as penicillin and cyclosporin. In this issue of Structure, Tarry et al. (2017) use X-ray crystallography and electron microscopy to shed light on the inter-module interactions that underpin the complex function of these enzymes.Entities:
