Abstract
Objective Developing a useful tool for planning health care for children under 5 years of age in the Ciudad Bolivar locality of Bogotá, developing an endemic channel for acute respiratory disease and acute diarrheal disease in children under 5 years of age for the period of 2008 to 2012. Methodology Descriptive study with a focus on public health surveillance for the preparation of an endemic channel for children under 5 years receiving care services in the Vista Hermosa Hospital Level I. Results The incidence of acute respiratory disease for a period of five years was identified with a monthly average of 1265 + 79 cases, showing two annual peak periods. Acute diarrheal disease, a monthly average of 243 cases was obtained with a period of higher incidence. Conclusion The correct preparation of the endemic channels in primary health care can provide alerts in a timely manner from the first level of care and guide decision-making in health and help achieve better network management services.Entities:
