Abstract
Oat and bean products, which contain large amounts of water-soluble fiber, are particularly effective hypocholesterolemic agents. Recent experiments with human subjects using these products as supplements to the diet are reviewed. High-carbohydrate, high-fiber diets offer a nutritious, economical, and readily accepted means to reduce serum cholesterol.Entities:
