Distribution of the patients by diagnosis (n=34)
| Diagnosis | No. of children | Mean age, years | Age range, years |
|---|---|---|---|
| NF-1 | 13 | 14.8 | 4–18 |
| Epilepsy (any type) | 8 | 11.8 | 7–14 |
| MCM | 3 | 7.3 | 2–11.5 |
| ASD | 3 | 9.8 | 5–15 |
| Other | 7 | 11.8 | 2–19 |
All MRI was performed before the age of 18 years.
Age at the time of this study.
ASD: autistic spectrum disorder, MCM: macrocephaly capillary malformation, NF-1: neurofibromatosis-1, Other: endocrine pathologies (precocious puberty and growth-hormone deficiency), neurologic symptoms (positive Romberg sign, sensory disturbances, suspected Joubert syndrome, and suspected Chiari-1 malformation), and increased head circumference.
Mean measured thickness of the corpus callosum (CC) (in millimeters) according to diagnosis and previous studies
