Geographic variation in the responses of guppies (Poecilia reticulata) to aerial predators.

B H Seghers1,2.

Abstract

Artificial aerial predators elicit different responses from two geographically isolated populations of Trinidad guppies (Poecilia reticulata) and their laboratory-reared progeny. The variation in behavior presumably reflects geographic differences in the selection pressures exerted by aquatic versus aerial predators.
