Detection of 5-hydroxytryptamine in developing sea urchin embryos.

Mark Toneby1.

Abstract

5-Hydroxytryptamine has been determined in developing sea urchin embryos by means of chemical methods. An increase of the 5-hydroxytryptamine content can be correlated with the formation of neurons which occurs in the advanced gastrula and in young pluteus.
