Kinetics of RNA-synthesis in the 16-cell stage of the sea urchinParacentrotus lividus.

G Czihak1,2.

Abstract

The concentration of RNA synthesised in the prolonged interphase of micromeres at the 16 cell stage is about 9 times higher per unit volume than in the other blastomeres. Since there are cytoplasmic connections between micromeres and macromeres, a transfer of the micromere RNA by simple diffusion is to be expected.
